November 13, 2010 Saturday

Today will be a light day walking with the family and tonight sit ups. I am feeling aa lot better physically and emotionally. I am hungry and need to remember to drink water and not eat. Coffee is my downfall right now, it needs to be decaffinated and I dring half and half at home. AHHHHHHHH Community! I have also started looking into developing a drink that RNY patients running, bicycling or just very active can have to replenish the electrolytes needed whle maintaing a high protein intake. This is the hard part, comlex carbohydrates need to be high for long distance runners/cycling and we RNY, need high protein with low carbs. I will be trying to design something like the folks down in Florida did. We shall see how this works. The mad scientist is in the house! I hope I can make this work.

November 11, 2010

Ok, today was a light bike ride for 6 miles. I set my iPhone to record my ride and of course, it dies, lol. I really enjoyed this day and had a great ride. I would like to say that we need to remember all veterans today and never forget the ones that have not come home. SEMPER FI!
I ate some more of my cookie cake and feel a little guilty. I will work it off. I am feeling a lot better than I did on Tuesday. ONE DAY AT A TIME!

November 10, 2010

Today is a great day to be alive! Today is the Marine Corps Birthday, 235 years and still young. I ran two miles today and I had a sharp pain in my abdomen so I had to cut it a little short. My blood pressure was really low when I got home and had to sit and eat a banana to feel better. I think tomorrow I will walk and not run to slow down a little. I talked to Waystedt and he has to work tonight and is cycling and walking to statr training for the Marine Corps Marathon (MCM). Tonight my wonderful bride, Michelle has cooked me Meatballs and speghetti and got a cookie cake with SEMPER FI on it in Marine Corps red and gold. OOOORAH
SEMPER FIDELIS!!!!
Like I said, it is a great day to be alive!

Day 2

WOW, my legs hurt. They are full of lactic acid. I hurt walking up and down stairs, down hurts most. Tonight I am doing sit ups and it is not making it easier. I know I can do this and will make it through the initial muscle soreness. Looking forward to my run tomorrow.

Research

Ok, I am looking into running the Marine Corps Marathon on October 30, 2011 with a friend of mine Elmer Waystedt. I am looking for information on training schedules as well as nutritional needs running long distances. I guess I need to get off my lazy but and just do it. The only drawback that I see in this is the RNY surgery and nutritional needs vs nutritional guidelines for running a marathon. I will keep everyone updated on my progress and anything else that I run into.

Thank you for your support.
